Every day in rural communities and poor urban centers throughout sub-Saharan Africa, hundreds of millions of people suffer from a lack of access to clean, safe water.
In Zambia, more than one third of the population does not have access to clean water and more than half lacks access to proper sanitation facilities. Children suffer the greatest. Unicef estimates that 1,600 children under the age of 5 die from diarrhea cause by unsafe drinking water - more than Aids and malaria combined.
Women and girls especially bear the burden of walking miles at a time to gather water from streams and ponds - full of water-borne disease that is making them and their families sick. It is estimated that 1,600 children die every day from diarrhea caused by drinking dirty water.
With the support of people like you we have been able to create 5 new wells for the people of Usha village and surrounding areas providing clean safe drinking water. Sindindi, Lueti and Namaenya in Ushaa area received THREE CLEAN WATER WELLS for the rural people with the help of DOUBLE HARVEST MINISTRY last year.
We continue to minister to these people as we are going to the same area to help people and preach the gospel.
